INTRODUCTION

MakerLinc is a community of "makers," people who like to use their hands to build, create, repair, repurpose, learn, and to explore and improve their community and the world around them. Makers may work in wood, metal, plastic, cloth, leather, fiber, electronics, computer code, or a combination of materials and techniques. Makers may use anything from hand tools, to familier power tools, to exotic technologies like 3D printers and laser cutters

The immediate goal of MakerLinc is to bring such people in the area together, to meet so they can share projects, ideas, information, and skills.

The ultimate goal is to explore the idea of founding a non-profit "makerspace" in Lincoln City; a community workshop providing space, tools, and learning to allow people to build and to expand their skills and knowledge. It can be an asset to education, a place to learn new job skills, to create things of art and beauty, to develop ideas, or to help jumpstart new businesses. And of course, it's a place for fun as well.

Starting a makerspace in such a small city won't be easy, but we believe that, given all the potential benefits, it's a goal worth pursuing. Join us, support us, build with us, and do what you can. Everyone potentially has something to contribute. We look forward to working with us.
